As Campaign Season Enters 11th Hour, Martin Elections Staff to Accommodate Voters with 12-hour days of Early Voting

STUART— Candidates aren’t the only ones working late this election season. As the Countdown to Choose clock at MartinVotes.com ticks off the remaining seconds until Nov. 6, personnel at the Martin County Elections Center are planning to put in extra long hours to accommodate the record voter turnout they’re anticipating.

Saturday, Oct. 27 through Saturday, Nov. 3, elections personnel will offer Early Voting at six locations around the county.  All locations will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily with the exception of the Elisabeth Lahti Library in Indiantown which will offer early voting from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

“This is a case of voter demand and voter necessity,” said Vicki Davis, Martin County supervisor of elections and president of the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections. “Voters aren’t just being asked to pick a president and vote on several significant leadership positions; they’re also facing 11 proposed state constitutional amendments so if ever there were a year to vote early—this is it.

“We want to make sure every voter has as much time as possible to conveniently and comfortably make their selections,” Davis added. “The early voting option is an especially ideal environment for voters seeking to avoid the long lines and waits of Election Day.”
