Stuart, FL- Martin County Supervisor of Elections, Vicki Davis proudly announced that two nonprofit organizations raised a grand total of $2,000.00, by “Adopting-A-Precinct” during the recent Republican Presidential Primary Election. Members from Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Kiwanis Club of Jensen Beach; worked the polls on Election Day.

These local organizations use the “Adopt-A-Precinct” program as a way to earn unrestricted dollars for their various organizations.  Each group recruits its own volunteers to staff a polling precinct on Election Day and elections center staff members train them to work the polls. In addition, the Elections Center provides signage for the adopted precincts letting voters know which organization adopted their polling location.

“It’s with great enthusiasm that we were able to have these volunteers work as poll workers and donate their funds back to their organization, during the election. They did an outstanding job working as poll workers serving the voters of Martin County and representing what their organizations stand for,” said Davis.
