High School Student Vote Online

Stuart, FL-Martin County High School freshman participated in their first online election when they voted for class President and Treasurer last Thursday and Friday.

 

Double Click Democracy is an online voting service hosted by Kids Voting USA and offered in the state of Florida by Kids Voting Tampa Bay. Kids Voting Tampa Bay has partnered with Florida Supervisors of Elections to offer FREE online voting services.

 

Freshman from Martin County High School were the first students to participate in this program this school year. Each student was provided with a student ID number and they were able to vote quickly and with ease online in the school’s library. After casting their vote, each student received an “I VOTED” sticker.

 

172 students participated in the election, Brett Taylor won for the office of as President with 49% of the vote and Ishani Patel as class treasurer with 90% of the vote.

 

“Staff and I will continue to work with our school district to provide elections programs to our “future” voters, said Davis.”
